Navigation System

Navigation system is an electronic map that shows route instructions, usually displayed on a dashboard video screen. This system communicates with a satellite to give the vehicle's geographic location and direction of travel and displays the information on the screen. Most systems allow giving input of a destination using a keypad. A computer then looks for the best possible route and provides audible and visual directions to reach that destination. Navigation systems are generally optional, but some luxury models offer it as standard equipment.
